Special Olympics Arizona Equestrian Sports - Our goal is to parallel the true competition "show experience" as much as possible. We serve a wide variety of persons with intellectual disabilities. Riders range in age from 6 years up. Athletes train nine months out of the year and currently have three horse show opportunities. They compete in events including: Dressage, English and Western Equitation, Working Trail, Showmanship, Barrels and Pole Bending. There are multiple divisions ranging from fully supported walk only riders up to fully independent walk/jog/lope levels. Many of our athletes are unable to participate physically in traditional sports so the confidence and self-esteem they aquire from learning to independently control and successfully navigate a 1,000 pound animal is beyond words.

We are extremely thankful for the wonderful show clothing donated by Show Me Again! These clothes surpass anything most of these riders have the ability to afford and truly give them a unique and special show experience that elevates traditional therapeutic riding.
